Charity Event Planned for Monday August 19th at the National Veterans Art Museum

Brighton Marine, Inc., one of Greater Boston’s longstanding non-profits supporting service members, military retirees and veterans, has partnered with The Truman National Security Project and the DNC Veterans & Military Families Council to provide Chicago-area students with backpacks and school supplies needed to kick off a successful academic year.

Brighton Marine is funding the backpacks and school supplies for hundreds of Wells Community Academy High School and Bottom Line students, and volunteers will assemble and deliver to those local students most in need.

“Bottom Line shares Brighton Marine’s deep commitment to providing holistic wrap around supports to ensure talented and motivated members of our communities have what they need to be successful in life,” said Will Hobart, Executive Director, Bottom Line Chicago. “We are grateful to partner with Brighton Marine to provide backpacks with school supplies to Chicago Public Schools seniors, of which nearly 200 are Bottom Line students, who aspire to be the first in their families to attend and graduate from college. We have no doubt this generous support will create a sense of belonging, dignity, and connectedness – values important to both Brighton Marine and Bottom Line.”

“The military and veteran community truly embodies the spirit of service to others. Today, we are thrilled to present a project dedicated to Chicago students. These backpacks represent not just a new school year but also a fresh start, symbolizing the bright future we aspire to create,” said Rosye Cloud, Chair of the Board of Directors and CEO of Brighton Marine.
