U.S. chemical company E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co. (DD) is
seeking buyers for DuPont Teijin Films, a polyester film joint
venture with Japan-based Teijin Ltd. (3401.TO), Bloomberg News
reported Thursday on its website, citing unnamed sources.
DuPont is also looking to sell another business that makes
powder-based paint, the report said. Both the assets would likely
fetch less than $1 billion each, the report quoted the sources as
saying.
The company might also buy the 28% stake it doesn't already own
in Solae--a soybean-based food products joint venture with Bunge
Ltd. (BG)--instead of selling it as previously planned, the report
said, quoting one unnamed source.
A DuPont spokesman declined comment, according to the
report.
