TRZ Trizec Properties

Trizec Properties, Inc. (NYSE:TRZ) announced today that the company signed two leases in February totaling 679,000 square feet in downtown Houston. Trizec secured a lease with Chevron U.S.A., Inc., a subsidiary of Chevron Corp. (NYSE:CVX) for approximately 465,000 square feet of Class A office space at the 1.1 million square foot Continental Center I at 1600 Smith Street. This lease transaction, equivalent to about 20 floors, will bring Continental Center I from 75 percent occupied to approximately 99 percent leased. In this transaction, Tim Relyea, vice chairman of Cushman & Wakefield represented Chevron. Paul Layne, executive vice president, and Paul Frazier, vice president of office leasing for Trizec's Southwestern Region represented the company. Trizec also signed a long-term lease with Kinder Morgan Inc. (NYSE:KMI), one of the largest energy transportation, storage and distribution companies in North America, to renew 159,000 square feet and expand by 55,000 square feet to a total of 214,000 square feet of Class A office space at One Allen Center in downtown Houston. In this transaction, Aaron Howes and Kyle Kelly of CB Richard Ellis represented Kinder Morgan. Paul Frazier represented Trizec.
