He will remain in Europe, reporting directly to Monty Bannerman, chief executive officer. In his new position he will seek further opportunities to maximize sales and distribution relationships, streamline processes, and manage forecasting and reporting," Bannerman added. An engineer and entrepreneur with 15 years of experience, Mr. Desmet founded several companies in the 1990's, including one of the first VoIP distributors in Europe, which was eventually acquired by Clarent Corporation. At Clarent, he was appointed Vice President of OEM and Distribution Sales for EMEA and subsequently named Vice President at Verso Technologies when it acquired Clarent Corporation in 2002.
