Destatis is slated to publish Germany's producer prices for July is due to be released in the pre-European session on Friday at 2:00 am ET. Economists forecast prices to drop 2.1 percent year-on-year, following a 2.2 percent fall in June.

Ahead of the data, the euro held steady against its major rivals.

As of 1:55 am ET, the euro was trading at 0.8624 against the pound, 1.0836 against the Swiss franc, 1.1335 against the U.S. dollar and 113.61 against the yen.
