                                 TRADING UPDATE

Order input in the third quarter of the year continued at the high levels
experienced in the first half of the year and most of our markets continue to
display good levels of activity.

Our production facilities have all responded well to the improved business
climate and in many cases have achieved record output levels.  Rotork Fluid
System, whose half year results were behind target, should end the year
strongly.  We therefore expect to be at the upper end of market expectations.

As long as current order input levels are maintained we anticipate that the
closing order book will be well up on the start of this year.
