Pursuant to the obligation placed on us by paragraph 9.11 of the Listing Rules,
we advise that on 23 May 2003, the Company received notification that FMR Corp.
and its direct and indirect subsidiaries and Fidelity International Limited and
its direct and indirect subsidiaries has a notifiable interest in 2,400,000
Ordinary Shares in Irish Continental Group plc., representing 9.8% of the
Company's issued ordinary share capital.
