AXA Has Completed the Acquisition of Winterthur

PARIS, Dec. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AXA announced today it has
successfully completed the acquisition of Winterthur. "I am very
confident that the enthusiasm and professionalism of Winterthur and
AXA teams and the extensive preparatory work conducted across both
groups will ensure a swift integration of our businesses," said
Henri de Castries, AXA Group Chief Executive Officer. "The
acquisition of Winterthur is a unique opportunity to further

further leverage our global platform." The transaction, which was
announced on 14 June 2006, received all necessary regulatory
