A nearby temporary site located at 1225 Tri-State Parkway in Gurnee opened March 1. DeVry's spring session began on March 1, and several courses are being offered at the temporary location. Because DeVry University also offers degree programs online, students at the center have additional flexibility in that they can mix and match their onsite classes with classes offered online. "Gurnee is a prosperous, growing suburban area, and one that is an attractive location for DeVry University," said Jerry Dill, regional vice president for DeVry University. "Opening a new center in Gurnee fits into DeVry's overall strategy to provide more students greater access to education." With the addition of the Gurnee center, DeVry now has 11 locations in the Chicagoland area, including an existing Lake County center in Lincolnshire. DeVry University's Gurnee center is a convenient place for adult learners to earn a baccalaureate or master's degree. "Because these students often have professional and family commitments, our new center's convenient location is crucial to helping adults fit courses into their already busy lives," said Dill. DeVry has an applications-oriented approach in which the teaching and learning that takes place in the classroom or online can be applied immediately in the workplace -- whether a student is seeking to advance a career or start a new one. "DeVry University prepares students to succeed in a global knowledge economy in which technology and business are intertwined.
