KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Goody's Family Clothing, Inc. (NASDAQ:GDYS) today reported total sales of $128.0 million for the fiscal month of November 2005 (the four weeks ended November 26, 2005), an increase of 1.3% from total sales of $126.4 million for the fiscal month of November 2004 (the four weeks ended November 27, 2004). Comparable store sales for November 2005 declined 4.8% compared with November 2004. Total sales for the first 10 months of fiscal 2005 decreased 0.1% to $1.008 billion from $1.009 billion during the same period last year. Comparable store sales for the first 10 months of fiscal 2005 declined 5.3% from the same period last year. Goody's, headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, is a retailer of moderately priced family apparel, and, with the closing of one store in Gainesville, Florida on November 26, 2005, currently operates 381 stores (compared with 359 stores at November 27, 2004) in the 21 states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
