The Board of Cagney notes the recent volatility in the Company's share price. It
is not aware of any reason for this share price movement. In the March
announcement of its preliminary results for 2007, Cagney reported a strong start
to the year. Since then, first quarter management accounts have become available
which support that view.


Paul Simons, Chief Executive said:

"Management accounts now available confirm the guidance we gave to the market in
March that the year has started well, and that we are optimistic about the
future outcome."
