                      Dr John Westwood appointed to Board

Cardpoint plc, the first UK quoted independent ATM deployer, has appointed Dr
John B Westwood (BA (Oxon), Dp.BA, PhD) as a non-executive director of the
Company with immediate effect.

John is a senior faculty member of Manchester Business School where he lectures
on strategy for all major programmes.  He has published widely on the subject of
business management and has extensive international teaching experience.

In addition, John has considerable consultancy experience, and counts Ernst &
Young, IBM, Dimension Data (South Africa), Barclays, Bank of Ireland, Kodak and
the International Development Institute (Ireland) amongst his clients.

John holds non-executive directorships with Matalan plc, Almeida Capital Ltd,
Microsens Biophage Ltd and Sumo Filtration Ltd.  He is also non-executive
Chairman of The Big Word, a multi-language translation company.

About Cardpoint

Cardpoint operates in the growing independent ATM market, which has benefited
from demands for more conveniently located cash machines.  The Group focuses on
identifying sites where there is potential for high transaction volumes and
which are in areas not traditionally serviced by other ATM providers.

The Group undertakes detailed due diligence of the sites where it installs ATMs,
familiarising itself with customers' and visitors' profiles and analysing
footfall and/or turnover. In addition, the Group's cash in transit provider
completes independent site security reviews.

When the Group installs an ATM, it retains responsibility for the ownership and
management of the ATM. The Group is provided with detailed daily transaction
reports very day by its processor enabling it to monitor an ATM's performance
and effectively manage the supply chain. Bank notes are supplied by Girobank and
transported by Securicor.

Feedback from site hosts has shown that the presence of a well-positioned and
signposted ATM can increase footfall and that a proportion of the cash withdrawn
from an ATM is spent in and around the immediate retail environment.

Cardpoint is a full member of LINK Network the only branded shared network of
ATMs and self-service terminals in the UK.  The service provides a telecoms and
settlement infrastructure to its members. It allows some 80 million cardholders
of every member financial institution to use the ATM of another LINK member.
