Sir Robin Young Chairman of Clarion Housing Group has announced his intention to stand down on 1 April 2017, following the successful completion of the merger between Affinity Sutton and Circle Housing.

Sir Robin will be succeeded by Neil Goulden, Deputy Chairman of the Clarion Group, and former Chairman of Affinity Sutton.

Previously, Neil served as Chief Executive Officer and formally Group Managing Director at Gala Coral Group. In addition to his current role at Clarion Housing Group, Neil is Pro Chancellor and Chair of Governors at Nottingham Trent University. He is also Vice Chair of Ambitious About Autism (an education based charity) and chairs the Finance Committee for Sue Ryder (the healthcare charity). In the commercial world Neil is Senior Independent Director on the board of Marstons plc and is now Chair of Jackpot Joy, a FTSE 250 Company, having been Senior Independent Director for nine years until January 2017. He also sat on the Low Pay Commission for eight years from 2007 to 2015.
