About Virtualization Technology
Virtualization is a method for concealing the physical
attributes of computing resources to simplify the way in which
other systems, applications, or users interact with them.
Virtualization is a technology that can benefit anyone who uses
a computer, from IT professionals and Mac enthusiasts to commercial
businesses and government organizations. Millions of people around
the world use virtualization to save time, money and energy while
achieving more with the computer hardware they already own. Using
virtualization will also result in higher energy-savings and lower
overall emissions, thereby achieving a more
environmentally-friendly computing environment.
Virtualization is the inevitable choice for Green IT, and also
the infrastructure software technology for cloud computing.
Virtualization can include:
- Hardware and Server Virtualization
- Network and Storage Virtualization
- Desktop Virtualization
With our virtualization solutions you can:
- Consolidate your data center and servers; reduce direct input
on servers, cabinets, air conditioners and UPS powers;
- Optimize your storage system;
- Improve the manageability of your datacenter, and lower
operation and maintenance cost;
- Improve the system safety protection ability and high
reliability;
- Reduce carbon emissions;
- Reduce the usage of lead acid batteries in computer rooms,
which is more environment-friendly;
- Reduce desktop hosts and IT garbage; improve manageability and
security of desktop;
- Improve the deployment and application of software;
- Simplify complex tests;
- Make disaster tolerance easier and simpler.
With our extensive portfolio of virtualization solutions, we can
help you build a resilient infrastructure optimized for
cost-effectiveness, simplified management and flexibility.
About Cloud Computing
Cloud computing is a general term for anything that involves
delivering hosted services over the Internet. These services are
broadly divided into three categories: Infrastructure-as-a-Service
(IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service
(SaaS). The name cloud computing was inspired by the cloud symbol
that is often used to represent the Internet in flowcharts and
diagrams.
A cloud service has three distinct characteristics that
differentiate it from traditional hosting. It is sold on demand,
typically by the minute or the hour; it is elastic -- a user can
have as much or as little of a service as they want at any given
time; and the service is fully managed by the provider (the
consumer needs nothing but a personal computer and Internet
access). Significant innovations in virtualization and distributed
computing, as well as improved access to high-speed Internet and a
weak economy, have accelerated interest in cloud computing.
