Pursuant to the terms of each of our stock plans and subject to the Company’s insider trading policy, a portion of each recipient’s vested shares may be sold in the open market for tax purposes on or about the vesting dates.
Stock-based compensation expense for the three months ended September 30, 2022 and 2021, was approximately $5.0 million and $53,000, respectively, and for the nine months ended September 30, 2022 and 2021, was approximately $5.5 million and $478,000, respectively.
The Company granted a total of 877,174 stock options during the three months ended September 30, 2022 and granted a total of 884,061 stock options during the nine months ended September 30, 2022. The Company did not grant any stock options during the three months ended September 30, 2021, and granted 20,000 stock options during the nine months ended September 30, 2021.
