AmerisourceBergen Corp. (ABC) affirmed its fiscal-2009 outlook Thursday and said shareholders approved a proposal to redeem the company's shareholder rights, or "poison pill," agreement.

The pharmaceutical-services company expects fiscal-2009 earnings from continuing operations of $3.08 to $3.25 a share. Analysts surveyed by FactSet Research estimate fiscal-2009 earnings of $3.19 a share.

AmerisourceBergen said the proposal to redeem the shareholder rights agreement isn't binding on the company, and that the board will take the voting results under advisement.
