Repsol SA said Wednesday that it would develop a project with plastic recycler Acteco to increase the capacity of a recycled-materials production plant in Alicante, Spain.

The partnership is part of the circular economy initiatives Repsol has launched to achieve its carbon intensity reduction goals, according to the Spanish energy player.

The two companies have been collaborating since 2018 to promote the recovery of polymers and their re-introduction into sectors such as automotive, healthcare, construction or packaging, Repsol said.
