Indian engineering major Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (500510.BY) is in talks with Japan's Fujitsu Ltd. (6702.TO) and France's Capgemini (CAP.FR) to sell its stake in software unit Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd., a local news station reported Friday, quoting sources it didn't name.

Fujitsu and Capgemini are conducting their due diligence on the unit, which offers software solutions to mainly manufacturing clients, India's CNBC TV18 said.

"We do not comment on market speculations and rumors," a Capgemini spokeswoman in India told Dow Jones Newswires. Fujitsu and Larsen & Toubro Infotech did not immediately respond to queries for comment.

A Larsen & Toubro spokesman cited company policy to not comment on market speculation.

Shares in Larsen & Toubro were trading up 3.9% at noon on the Mumbai market, which was up 3.4%.
