Verizon Communications Inc. and Live Nation Entertainment Inc. said the two companies formed a multi-year partnership based on 5G technology and presale ticket access.

Verizon said it launched a new "First Access" ticket presale program exclusively for Verizon Up members. Tours include The Weeknd, Imagine Dragons and Dierks Bentley, with additional artist tours to be announced at a later date.

The New York-based cellphone carrier said it will continue to deploy 5G in Live Nation venues across the country.

Verizon and Live Nation said the companies are also working to provide exclusive access to select artists' streaming concerts through Veeps streaming platform as part of +play, a new platform exclusive to Verizon customers launching later this year.

"This partnership with Live Nation opens the door for artists to enhance fan engagement and participation, and shape the future of live events," Verizon Marketing Chief Diego Scotti said in prepared remarks.
