Brown-Forman’s (NYSE:BFA) (NYSE:BFB) tequila brands received prominent medals at The Spirits International Prestige (SIP) Awards held in San Diego on July 14, 2012. Tequila Herradura and el Jimador were recognized among 302 competing spirits by a panel of 60 consumer judges.

Herradura Selección Suprema Extra Añejo, Herradura Añejo and el Jimador Reposado were given a distinguished platinum award, each in their respective categories. Gold medals went to Herradura Silver, el Jimador Blanco and el Jimador Añejo.

“Once again, Casa Herradura’s tequila brands win taste and aroma tests against other leading tequila brands. To receive such validation from consumer judges encourage us to continue bringing excellent and superior quality products to the world,” said Salvador Alvarez, SVP, managing director for Brown-Forman Tequila.

The SIP Awards is the only international spirits competition whereby a panel of consumers participate in blind tastings of global spirits and rate them based on Aroma, Taste and Finish.
