Perceptron(R) to Participate in Hannover Industrial Fair

PLYMOUTH, MI--(Marketwired - Apr 3, 2014) - Perceptron, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRCP), a leading global provider of real time, non-contact 3D measurement, inspection and robot automation solutions, announced that it will be participating in the Hannover Industrial Fair in Germany from April 7th through April 11th. A robotic demonstration system featuring Perceptron Helix® technology will be presented by Siemens in Hall 9, Booth D35. Experts will be on hand throughout the week to discuss the technical differentiators and benefits provided by the overall solution, as well as answer any specific questions regarding Perceptron product strengths and capabilities.

Jeffrey M. Armstrong, Perceptron's President and CEO, said, "We are clearly pleased to have been invited by Siemens to participate in showcasing this innovative robotic assembly solution. It is a very public opportunity to demonstrate the powerful solutions we offer with our 3D Helix sensors, Vector software, and integration capabilities."

Siemens selected Perceptron's 3D Helix sensors based on three differentiators. First, the Helix sensor's large measurement volume allows Siemens to capture all relevant part features required for the assembly process with fewer sensors. Second, Helix's Intelligent Illumination™ technology enables the number, density and orientation of the laser lines to be individually tailored for each specific part feature, without altering the sensor's position. Finally, a wide range of Helix standoffs, from 200mm all the way up to 1400mm, offers significant solution flexibility. In robotic assembly applications, Perceptron offers a unique solution that enables the customer to use one set of robot-mounted or frame-mounted sensors to survey the as-built components, guide the robot installation motion, and then validate the installed alignment to ensure it meets design intent.

Armstrong added, "At Perceptron, technical and business innovation are key enablers to growth and diversification. Continuing to foster relations with strong business partners and our ongoing commitment to world-class research and development will allow us to remain at the forefront of the industrial metrology marketplace."
