                     Extract from the Chairman's Statement


As we reported in June, the group is now benefiting from the impact of the
ongoing restructuring on the improved efficiency of the business, particularly
in the UK. This process has continued in the last six months and a new senior UK
sales team has been appointed to pursue new growth opportunities. Whilst the
market remains competitive, we were pleased to win or retain a number of
important contracts in September.


The senior management team in Europe was strengthened further by the appointment
of a European finance director in the summer, following the appointment of a new
managing director and operations director in France earlier in the year. The
team are actively developing new opportunities for the business, whilst
reviewing operational and administrative processes to improve efficiency. In
Germany, a new market for the provision of facility services to several diverse
sectors has been identified and is progressing well, whilst in France the new
alarm service is proving successful.


Overall, we remain positive regarding the future opportunities for the business.
