    Appointment of Non-Executive Director


    D1 Oils plc ("D1" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that Brian Myerson is appointed to the Board of D1 as a Non-Executive
Director with immediate effect.

    Brian is Chief Executive Officer of Principle Capital Group, whose managed funds are significant shareholders in D1. Brian co-founded
Principle Capital in November 2004 and has been a director of several listed UK companies, including Greycoat plc (1994 to 1996) and
Marylebone Warwick Balfour Group Plc (2002 to 2005), where he was Chairman. He was also a Non-Executive Director of Sage Group, a South
African listed life assurance and financial services business, from 2003 to 2004. 

    Commenting on his appointment, Lord Oxburgh, Chairman of D1, said: 

    "Principle Capital has been a very supportive shareholder since first investing in the Company via our December 2006 placing. Brian has
a very strong track record as an investor in the UK, Europe and South Africa and has a keen interest in the biofuels sector. His experience
will be a substantial asset to the Board."

    In accordance with Schedule 2(g) of the AIM Rules, the following information is provided:

    

    Brian Alan Myerson, 49, is a Director of Principle Capital Investment Trust Plc ("PCIT") and a Director of Principle Capital Fund
Managers Limited, the 100% owner of Principle Capital General Partner Limited, which is the General Partner of Principle Capital, L.P.
("PCLP"). PCIT owns 24,647,119 ordinary shares and PCLP owns 10,241,970 ordinary shares in D1, together these shareholdings represent 27.05
per cent of the issued share capital of D1. Brian Myerson has no legal or beneficial interest in these shares, direct or indirect. 

    He is also a Director of the following companies:

    Bulldog Financial Limited; Liberty plc, Liberty Retail plc; PME African Infrastructure Opportunities plc; PME African Infrastructure
Managers Limited; Principle Capital Holdings S.A.; Principle Energy Limited; Proteus Property Partners Limited; Shawford Park Helicopters
Limited; South African Property Opportunities Plc; Principle Capital African Private Equity Plc; Principle Capital African Equity Partners
Limited. 

    Over the past five years he has been a Director of the following companies:
