Broadcast Veteran Steve Edwards to be Honored With Star on the
Hollywood Walk of Fame HOLLYWOOD, Calif., May 10
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Emmy Award-winning television personality
Steve Edwards will be honored with the 2,255th star on the world
famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. The star will be unveiled on Friday,
May 14, at 6150 Hollywood Boulevard (corner of El Centro Avenue) at
9:15 a.m. (PDT) during a live broadcast of the top-rated, daily
news and entertainment magazine show, "Good Day Live," which
Edwards co-hosts with Dorothy Lucey and Jillian Barberie. This will
mark the first time a TV show has done a live broadcast on the
famous walk. Just as he spends his weekdays on the local Emmy
Award-winning ("Best Daytime Newscast" -- 1999, 2001, 2003) "Good
Day LA" (KTTV) and its national spin-off, "Good Day Live"
(Twentieth Television), Edwards' star is appropriately situated
between two ladies on the famous walk -- actresses Jeanie
MacPherson and Mary Boland. Johnny Grant, Honorary Mayor of
Hollywood and chairman of the Walk of Fame Committee, will preside
over the event. Special guests attending the ceremony include Paula
Abdul and Randy Jackson ("American Idol"), and George Lopez ("The
George Lopez Show"), among others. In addition, videotaped
congratulations from many of Edwards' celebrity friends including,
Jay Leno, Ben Affleck, Hilary Duff, Jim Carrey, Angelina Jolie,
Brad Pitt, Missy Elliott, and Simon Cowell, will be shown during
the telecast. One of LA's premier broadcast personalities, Edwards

"The Steve Edwards Show" (1978-81). He also co-hosted KABC talk
radio's "Sportstalk 790," a three-hour weeknight broadcast that
began in 1994. Edwards joined the station in October 1990 and

Edwards joined KABC-TV, the ABC-owned station in Los Angeles, and
hosted the live afternoon talk show 330 in 1984 and ABC's
nationally syndicated program "Hollywood Close-up" in 1985. Prior
to KABC, Edwards worked at KCBS-TV, the CBS-owned station in Los
Angeles, since 1978. In addition to hosting "Two On The Town" and
"The Steve Edwards Show," he served as Entertainment Editor for
Channel 2 News, providing reviews, commentary and special reports
on film, television and theater. From 1982-83, Edwards also
co-hosted "Entertainment Tonight" and "Entertainment This Week" and
garnered a national Emmy Award nomination as host. He has received
seven Los Angeles area Emmy Awards during his career for his work
on "Two On The Town" and "The Steve Edwards Show." In addition, the
local Emmy's have recognized his work on "The Baxters," an
