Palantir Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: PLTR) today announced its first Warp Speed cohort, comprised of companies committed to reindustrializing America’s manufacturing and production capabilities through advanced AI and technology. The inaugural members include: Anduril Industries, L3Harris, Panasonic Energy of North America (PENA), and Shield AI.
Palantir’s Warp Speed is the manufacturing operating system that provides the speed, flexibility, and security required for the modern manufacturer. It is architected on the principle that software should adapt to the business, not the other way around. The inaugural cohort is already using the software to gain an advantage in dynamic production scheduling, engineering change management, automated visual inspection for quality, and more.
“At the dawn of WW2, we didn’t have a Defense Industrial Base, we had an American Industrial Base. This is also what our future must look like—America must reindustrialize and mobilize at warp speed to win,” said Shyam Sankar, CTO of Palantir Technologies. “We are proud to support Anduril, Shield AI, L3Harris, and Panasonic Energy with best-in-class software to manufacture the critical products that underwrite our freedom and prosperity.”
Anduril Industries is a leader in autonomous technologies. The company was the first to use the Warp Speed operating system in production as part of the Arsenal OS suite of tools. It powers many workflows to support manufacturing at scale, such as dynamic material resource planning, phasing in of new configurations efficiently, and reducing material and labor variances.
“Speed of delivery is everything for us,” said Tom Bosco, Chief Information Officer at Anduril. “Warp Speed helps us ensure manufacturing capabilities for our customers quickly. By using the software, we’ve seen up to 200x efficiency gain in our ability to anticipate and respond to supply shortages.”
Shield AI has received record demand for their V-BAT, the company’s flagship unmanned aerial system. The company uses the Warp Speed OS to improve the speed of iteration for engineering changes and optimize production plans to meet burgeoning customer demand. Shield AI announced the expansion of its work with Palantir last week, using Warp Speed to deliver scalable, AI-powered solutions to protect service members and civilians.
“Our mission requires rigorous, unified execution from design to delivery. Production is as fast as the slowest part or process; Warp Speed will help our different functions identify chokepoints and stay in lock step,” said Ryan Tseng, CEO and founder of Shield AI.
L3Harris announced its strategic partnership with Palantir in October. L3Harris is using Warp Speed to close the loop between design, configuration and production, enabling production planning in parallel to ongoing configuration improvements.
“Warp Speed is a key component in our strategy to enhance operational efficiency, enabling improvements like process automation and smarter inventory management,” said David Zack, Vice President, Global Operations & Program Excellence, L3Harris. “As the industry’s Trusted Disruptor, we're continually exploring new partnerships and capabilities that drive value for our customers.”
Panasonic Energy of North America has extended its partnership with Palantir via a three-year agreement to revolutionize American battery manufacturing. With Warp Speed, Panasonic Energy is quickly evolving mission critical systems to unlock operational efficiencies, in turn strengthening US energy self-sufficiency and stability, and increasing resilience against potential global supply chain disruptions.
“Warp Speed is enabling us to rapidly transform our manufacturing operation in Nevada and accelerate the ramp-up of our new factory in De Soto, Kansas,” said Allan Swan, President, Panasonic Energy of North America. “With our new facility, we are transforming a historical industrial site into a gigafactory that is creating advanced American manufacturing jobs and strengthening the domestic supply chain in a critical industry.”

By: Schaeffer's Investment Research | December 9, 2024
• Palantir Technologies expanded its contract with the USSOCOM to nearly $37 million
• Software Stock Hits Record Highs on Expanded Special Ops Contract
Shares of Palantir Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:PLTR) were last seen 4% lower at $73.32, but earlier hit a record high of $80.91 after software firm said it expanded its partnership with the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). The new contract is valued at roughly $37 million, and allows Palantir to further build its artificial intelligence (AI) mission management capabilities.
On the charts, PLTR has been rallying since early November, up 28% over the last month and 335% since the start of 2024. The 10-day moving average provided support during its most recent uptrend, with the stock fresh off its fourth weekly gain in the last five.
Despite the outperformance, 13 of the 15 analysts in coverage carry a "hold" or worse rating, while the 12-month consensus price target of $40.13 is a 45.8% discount to current levels. This leaves room for plenty of bull notes that could provide tailwinds.
Over in the options pits, PLTR is popular after today's news. So far, 280,000 calls and 203,000 puts have been exchanged, which is double the overall options volume typically seen at this point. The weekly 12/13 80-strike call is the most popular, with new positions opening there.

Partnership will facilitate the flow of national security data from the tactical edge to the cloud-based enterprise
Palantir and Anduril, two leading companies at the intersection of commercial technology and national security, are launching a new consortium to ensure that the U.S. government leads the world in artificial intelligence. Our goal is to deliver the technological infrastructure, from the edge to the enterprise, that can enable our government and industry partners to transform America’s world-leading AI advancements into next-generation military and national security capabilities.
This partnership is focused on solving two main problems that limit the adoption of AI for national security purposes. The first is data readiness. Most useful national security data— government data that are collected and created by sensors, vehicles, weapons, and robots at the tactical edge—are not retained for AI training and algorithm development. Exabytes of defense data, indispensable for AI training and inferencing, are currently evaporating. What should be America’s ultimate asymmetric advantage over our adversaries is instead our biggest lost opportunity.
To solve this, we will utilize Anduril’s Lattice software system and the Anduril Menace family of deployable compute and communications systems to instrument the tactical edge for the government’s secure, large-scale data retention and distribution. Lattice connects directly with third-party defense systems at the edge, delivers autonomy to machine operations, securely distributes their information across a large-scale data mesh, and backhauls all tactical data into government enclaves for the purposes of AI training and inferencing. Menace devices are also purpose-built for the tactical edge, customized down to the silicon level for the unique requirements of national security operations in tactical environments—including, soon, next- generation encryption.
The second problem that we seek to solve exists when processing data at scale. Even with national security data that are retained, no secure enterprise pipeline exists to turn that data into AI capabilities. U.S. companies are developing world-leading models but struggling to deploy them at scale with government partners for defense applications.
To solve that, we will utilize Palantir’s AI Platform (AIP) to deliver a cloud-based data management and AI development capability that operates at the hyper-scale of commercial industry while meeting the unique requirements of national security. This will enable the structuring, labeling, and preparation of defense data for AI training and development at all levels of classification, including Secure Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP). Palantir’s AIP provides a seamless interface for commercial and government AI developers to conduct imitation and reinforcement learning. It also provides a secure pipeline to deploy, retrain, and redeploy those AI models onto national security systems—a process made even easier, faster, and more reliable through the integration with Anduril’s unique edge capabilities.
We will also provide a rapid and ready mechanism to operationalize these new AI capabilities directly through defense production programs that are already fielded. Maven Smart System, powered by the Palantir Platform, provides an enterprise mission command platform that integrates large-scale operational data and utilizes AI-based capabilities to improve and accelerate human decision-making across joint missions, such as intelligence and fires. Similarly, Anduril’s Lattice software platform provides an edge-based mission autonomy platform that integrates directly with robotic systems and utilizes AI-based capabilities to automate and orchestrate their conduct of joint missions, such as air defense and reconnaissance. Anduril and Palantir are joining these complementary systems together, providing a seamless operational capability from the edge to the enterprise that serves as a deployment platform for new AI applications that anyone can build. This platform is already in place and in use by Anduril and Palantir for their own corporate purposes and with government contracts that enables this work to begin immediately.
Ultimately, Palantir and Anduril expect to expand the partnership to other industry partners that have unique contributions to make to this unique mission. No single company is capable of delivering on the promise of AI for national security. It takes a team of companies that are willing and able to ensure that the U.S. government remains the world leader in fielding advanced technologies that keep our citizens safe.
