~ A pioneer of change, Star One Credit Union veteran shares her philosophy for driving innovation and impact ~

Digital banking provider Tyfone today announced the release of the 100th episode of its “Digital Banking Podcast.”

To celebrate this achievement, the podcast host and EVP of Evangelism at Tyfone Josh DeTar invited back one of its most popular guests, recently retired EVP of Operations from Star One Credit Union (Star One) Margarete Mucker. During the interview, DeTar and Mucker delved into the more pivotal moments of Mucker’s life story and how it shaped her approach to forming relationships with industry partners. Topics include her decision to move from Germany to the United States when she was just 18 years old and how this decision propelled her career in the financial services industry. Mucker’s commitment to innovation coupled with her philosophy of calculated, rapid decision-making yielded a successful career marked by countless industry firsts and the following industry moniker, the pioneer of digital banking.

“Taking calculated risks is integral to both personal and professional growth,” said Mucker. “Leaders who embrace risk-taking can achieve significant rewards, driving their organizations forward. This approach involves making informed decisions that, while potentially risky, are based on sound judgment and strategic thinking.”

Mucker also shared insights into her innovative work at Star One, emphasizing her drive for adopting new technologies to enhance customer service and security. Her approach often meant being the first to implement new solutions – for example, Star One was the first institution to send a transaction on the Federal Reserve’s FedNow Service, which launched in July 2023.
