Visionstate's WANDA, a Manning Award Nominee

Since 1982, the Ernest C. Manning Awards Foundation has acknowledged and awarded
Canadian innovators that have demonstrated remarkable advancements in their
respective fields. The Manning awards originated from the idea that Canadian
creativity needed to be promoted and it has grown into the country's most
prestigious annual award. Paired with the positive exposure and unequalled
recognition is the $100,000 prize for the Principal Award or the $10,000 prize
for the innovation award.


Visionstate Inc., a division of CSM Systems Corp, is honoured to be nominated
for this esteemed award regarding WANDA. WANDA (Washroom Attendant Notification
Digital Aid), Visionstate's latest innovation, integrates touchscreen technology
with a facility's janitorial operation, improving efficiencies and staff
accountability in order to better serve the end client. A clean environment may
not directly be a profit centre, however by properly maintaining a facility,
such as a restroom, you guarantee the health and satisfaction of the end-user.

In a shopping centre, this means your shoppers are pleased with their overall
experience; In an office building, this expresses an attention to detail; In a
hospital, it ensures a healthier environment for patients, visitors, and staff.


On the surface, the WANDA unit acts as a liaison for the customer to instantly
express grievances to management regarding cleanliness or supply shortages at
the touch of a screen (i.e. hand sanitizer, soap, paper towel, dirty). Moving
forward, staff are immediately notified of the issues by email, and can now
instantly respond to remedy the situation. Additionally, staff log-in to WANDA
to record their actions and supplies required.


With all the data being recorded, management can now determine benchmarks in
staff performance and trends to streamline operations in the future. Our
innovation re-imagines the processes involved with maintaining cleanliness,
allowing organizations to effectively save money and serve their guests.
