By locating ISO 13485 sites strategically in global locations, Solectron offers a variety of benefits to medical device firms, including engineering and new product development near medical OEMs, build-to-order and configure-to-order locations near end customers, and sites with proximity to low-cost supply base and access to low-cost manufacturing. This enables Solectron to develop an optimal supply chain that provides high-value services including product design and engineering, prototyping, full product production and aftermarket services at the lowest total landed costs. The certification specifies requirements for a quality management system that demonstrates a consistent ability to meet or exceed customer and regulatory requirements applicable to medical devices.
