London - 26 November 2007 - telent plc (LSE: TLNT) ("telent"). telent announces
that John Coomber, William Murphy and Malcolm Thomson were appointed
non-executive directors of telent today, Mr Coomber was also appointed Chairman.

John Devaney, Kent Atkinson, Peter Hickson, Werner Koepf and Douglas McWilliams
resigned as directors of telent today.

There are no details to be reported pursuant to LR 9.6.13 in respect of Mr
Coomber, Mr Murphy or Mr Thomson, save that Mr Coomber is a non-executive
director of Swiss Reinsurance Company ("Swiss Re"), a Swiss publicly quoted
company, Euler Hermes, a French publicly quoted company, and was a director of
EXIS Limited, a Swiss Re subsidiary company, which was put into members'
voluntary liquidation in 1991 and subsequently dissolved in 1994.
