LEX SERVICE COMPLETES SALE OF PART OF HOLDING IN SYNNEX


Further to its announcement on 16 June 1997, Lex Service has completed the
sale of 11 million shares in Synnex Technology International Corporation, the
Taiwanese electronics distributor, in conjunction with Synnex's issue of
shares in GDR form.  The shares were sold at NT$155 per share less expenses
and the net proceeds were #35 million.  Lex retains 25.8 million shares
representing 17.2% of Synnex. 

Lex Service has been advised by Goldman Sachs International, London, on the
sale of its Synnex shares.  The GDR issue was lead managed by ING Barings.
