BTG PLC : NOTIFICATION OF MAJOR INTERESTS IN SHARES

BTG plc (LSE: BGC) has today received notification in accordance with Sections
198-202 of the Companies Act 1985, from AMVESCAP PLC, that following the recent
purchase of 449,777 shares, INVESCO UK ICVC Series has a notifiable interest in
16,155,574 Ordinary Shares of BTG plc being 15.33% of the issued share capital.

The company has also received a Disclosure under Rule 3 of the Rules Governing
Substantial Acquisitions of Shares ("SARS") showing that AMVESCAP PLC on behalf
of discretionary managed clients of AMVESCAP (including the above client), has a
total holding of the Ordinary 10p voting shares of BTG plc of 25,411,300 being
24.11% of the total issued share capital.
