has today exercised an option under the Executive Share Option Scheme over 8,180
ordinary shares (0.01% of the issued shares). The shares were granted on 3 June
1998 and were subject to performance criteria relating to growth in earnings per
share which have been met. The option price of the shares was #3.665.

On exercise Dr Swarbrick sold 4,853 shares (0.008% of the issued shares). She
