DIRECTOR'S SHAREHOLDING



Following the cancellation of 775,500 Carpetright plc shares, the Company's
issued share capital has reduced to 72,322,246 with effect from yesterday.
Accordingly, Lord Harris' unchanged beneficial interest in 13,760,845 shares now
represents 19.03% of the issued share capital. Lord Harris' non-beneficial
interest in 854,000 shares now represents 1.18% of the issued share capital.
