Karoon Gas Australia Ltd. (KAR.AU) said Wednesday that a production test at its Kronos-1 exploration well has recorded an equipment-contrained gas flow of 26 million standard cubic feet per day.

Karoon, which is a joint partner with ConocoPhillips (COP) on the well in the Browse Basin off Western Australia, said the production test would continue for approximately seven days.

"(It) will include shut-in and flowing periods, surface sampling of reservoir fluids, possible bottom hole production logging and reservoir fluid sampling," Karoon said in a statement.

It said pressure data confirmed the Kronos area is a separate gas accumulation.
