Stock Exchange Announcement - 19 January 2004

Martin Currie Pacific Trust plc announces the intention of its chairman,
Tim Kimber, to retire from the board with effect from the conclusion of
the company's annual general meeting to be held in June 2004. Patrick
Gifford will succeed Tim Kimber as chairman. On the same date, John
Scott, who has been appointed the company's senior independent director,
will become chairman of the audit committee.
