Company captures 3 Gold and 1 Silver MAXIs at this year’s event, bringing its total number of MAXIs won to 27

Firm also pleased to be named a Top Influencer in Retail Real Estate by GlobeSt., a leading industry publication

Pacific Retail Capital Partners (“PRCP or the “Company”), one of the nation's premier retail operating groups, is excited to continue its excellence at ICSC’s Global MAXI ceremony, winning four awards at the 2024 competition. PRCP received three Gold and one Silver MAXIs, across multiple categories, bringing the total number of MAXIs it has won in its history to 27.

The MAXIs, which celebrate innovative events, programs and technology that add value to the marketplaces industry, were the latest industry recognition PRCP received for its commitment to evolving real estate for the next generation. Leading commercial real estate media publication GlobeSt. named the company an Influencer in Retail Real Estate earlier this month. The Influencers in Retail Real Estate list recognizes the most impactful owners, investors, developers and professionals across all sectors of commercial real estate each year.

"Our entire team at Pacific Retail Capital Partners is dedicated to creating innovative retail experiences that resonate with our communities and contribute to the evolution of the industry,” said Executive Vice President of Marketing, Najla Kayyem. “The MAXI Awards and the recognition from GlobeSt. validate our approach and inspire us to continue collaborating with our peers to develop best practices and drive meaningful change. We remain committed to learning, growing, and working together to shape the future of retail real estate, and are honored the industry views us as a leader in this regard."

Details on each of PRCP’s MAXI submissions can be found directly below.

PRCP’s 2024 MAXI Awards Winners and Finalists:

  • Gold MAXI – Community: “Extend Aloha”
  • The devastating wildfires in Maui last year left thousands without homes and businesses, prompting an immediate need for support. PRCP's "Extend Aloha" campaign aimed to raise awareness and funds for Maui through social media engagement, tenant partnerships, and community events across its portfolio of shopping centers. The grassroots initiative organically reached over 868,000 people, raised $25,000 in donations and secured $30,000+ in donated vendor services. The funds enabled PRCP to provide temporary retail space and financial aid to displaced Maui businesses, support impacted employees, and create a special prom experience for students who lost their schools in the fires.
  • Gold MAXI – Community: “Kokua for Maui”
  • The Maui wildfires displaced thousands and destroyed over 2,000 structures, creating an urgent need for relief support. Queen Ka'ahumanu Center rapidly mobilized to become the island's vital community hub by partnering with organizations like the American Red Cross to provide space for donation collection, supply distribution to serve 2,000 people daily, and sheltering efforts. The center hosted a benefit concert attended by 350 people that raised $1,400 and furthered its position as a beacon of hope. In total, QKC's partnerships facilitated over 500,000 visitor trips focused on disaster aid for over 60 days.
  • GOLD Maxi – Community: “Crabtree Cares”
  • Crabtree Valley Mall partnered with local chapters of national non-profits to host impactful charitable events and initiatives, connecting over 4,000 people and 45 retailers with opportunities to give back. The campaign generated $593,200 for the organizations, drove traffic and sales, with participating stores exceeding goals, and secured over 46 million positive media impressions. These efforts demonstrated Crabtree's vital community role, helping the mall achieve a 7% net operating income increase and protect its market share amidst increased competition.
  • Silver MAXI – Integrated: “419 Day”
  • Franklin Park Mall, facing community discontent due to the departure of beloved brands, seized the potential of 419 Day, the region's unofficial holiday. Through strategic partnerships, a digital campaign, on-site activation, and PR initiatives, the mall positioned itself as the hub of citywide festivities. The initiative drove significant increases in foot traffic and sales, with 68% of retailers exceeding daily sales goals on event day, while fostering positive sentiment and solidifying the mall's role as the premier shopping and community destination.
  • Finalist – Integrated: “LOC-OLY Grown”
  • Capital Mall, seized the opportunity to fill a vacant space and support the region's thriving culinary community by launching LOC-OLY Grown, a state-of-the-art 24-hour commercial kitchen. The initiative met a resounding need, receiving 120 lease applications in the first 180 days and securing 16 clients in 2023, with 27 more booked for 2024. LOC-OLY Grown hosted over 18 events and workshops, attracting thousands of visitors, and generated $33,022.55 in revenue. Through strategic partnerships, targeted marketing efforts, and community engagement, the kitchen reached 2.8 million people, formally incubated two potential inline tenants, and positioned Capital Mall as the unequivocal hub for supporting local businesses and "living LOC-OLY."
