A CBS producer was indicted Friday on charges that he attempted to extort $2 million from CBS "Late Show" host David Letterman, NY1 reported on its Web site. Robert Joel Halderman, 51, was indicted on attempted grand larceny charges, the district attorney's office said. The indictment charges Halderman, a producer for "48 Hours Mystery," with delivering a letter that threatened to reveal Letterman's affairs with staffers in a screenplay and a book unless he was paid $2 million. Halderman faces five to 15 years in prison if convicted.
