MELVILLE, N.Y., Feb. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Adecco
Engineering & Technical, part of the world's largest
recruitment and workforce solutions provider, is proud to announce
its launch of the 2012 Adecco Engineering & Technical Future
Engineers Scholarship.
This $2,500 scholarship will be
awarded to the individual who best answers the following question,
"In June 2011, President Barack Obama noted the nation's lack of
qualified engineers and called on the government and businesses to
work together to cultivate 10,000 new engineers every year. As
someone who is interested in pursuing an engineering education and
career, this is certainly exciting news for you. But we want to
know what attracted you to the engineering field in the first
place. Was it an inspiring individual? A particular project?
An intrinsic desire to design and develop new materials? Tell
us what motivated you to become an engineer of tomorrow."
"We take great interest in aspiring engineers at Adecco
Engineering & Technical," said Diana
Fitting, senior vice president of Adecco Engineering &
Technical. "As a country, the United
States must take the vital steps necessary to develop those
who are looking to enter in the engineering industry and promote
their desire to innovate, design and create real world solutions to
the real world challenges we face."
This US based scholarship will be awarded to one deserving high
school senior graduating in the spring of 2012, with a minimum
cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale who plans to pursue an
engineering major or minor at an accredited, public or private,
two-year or four-year college or university in the fall of 2012
with all submissions being due by April 9,
2012.
