                      Electric Word plc ("the Company")

                Additional Listing and Holdings in the Company

Application has today been made to the Alternative Investment Market for the
admission of 5,030,952 new ordinary shares of 1p each pursuant to the payment
of deferred consideration for the acquisition of Optimus Publishing Limited.
Trading in the new ordinary shares is expected to commence on 3 May 2001. The
new ordinary shares will rank pari passu with the existing ordinary shares of
the Company.

As a result of this the Company is now aware of the following substantial
shareholdings:

Ed Tranham, Executive Director          2,515,476 ordinary shares (3.27%)

Chris Kington                         2,515,476 ordinary shares (3.27%)

The Company was informed yesterday that Pinkberry Consultants Limited are
interested in 3,000,000 ordinary shares representing 3.9% of the enlarged
issued share capital of Electric Word plc.

The Company has also been informed that Alasdair and Ros Buchan are each
interested in 3,600,000 ordinary shares. Their combined beneficial
shareholding represents 9.34% of the enlarged issued share capital of Electric
Word plc.
