Costain In Potential GBP15 Million Pact For Severn Trent Water

Costain Group PLC (COST.LN), a engineering, construction,
maintenance and land development company, along with its partner
MWH, has achieved preferred bidder status on a potential GBP15
million contract for Severn Trent Water (SVT.LN) to construct a new
treated water pumping station at Frankley, one of its major water
treatment works in Birmingham.
MAIN FACTS:
-Frankley water treatment works supplies water to around 1.4
million people in Birmingham and the surrounding area, making it a
major piece of national infrastructure and a vital asset for Severn
Trent Water.
-Early works are planned from December 2010 with major
construction activities expected to be underway in the summer of
2011.
-The scheme is expected to take around two years to
complete.
-Shares at 1449 GMT down 3.5 pence, or 1.76%, at 195 pence.
