ADDITIONAL INFORMATION RE DIRECTOR'S SHAREHOLDING

                            ALLIANCE RESOURCES PLC                            

                   Issue of 56,805 Ordinary Shares for cash  

Alliance Resources PLC ("Alliance") announces that it has today issued 56,805
ordinary shares of 40p. each to Wood Roberts, Inc. ("Wood Roberts") consequent
upon Wood Roberts having exercised on 28 January 1998, 56,805 of the 343,924
Series "D" warrants issued to it on 1 May 1997 as part of the consideration
for the acquisition of LaTex Resources, Inc. The warrants entitle the holder
to subscribe for ordinary shares of 40p. each of Alliance at anytime prior to
31 March 2001 at a price to the sterling equivalent of US$0.87.  The
subscription price paid by Wood Roberts for the 56,805 ordinary shares was
#30,675.

Wood Roberts, Inc. is jointly owned by John Martinson, a non executive
director of Alliance, and his wife and this subscription increases his and his
family's interest to 185,776 ordinary shares of Alliance (representing 0.6% of
the total issued share capital).  In addition, John Martinson is now
interested in 593,211 warrants to subscribe for alliance ordinary shares.

The new ordinary shares are identical in all respects to the existing ordinary
shares of Alliance and application will be made for the new ordinary shares to
be admitted to the Official List of the London Stock exchange.
