CoolSys, the market-leading provider of sustainable refrigeration, HVAC, energy, and engineering solutions, announced two new executive appointments to the company’s leadership team. Danny Rodriguez is joining the company as Chief Information Officer and William (Bill) Schmidt has been appointed as General Counsel.

In his new role as Chief Information Officer, Danny will be responsible for leading the company’s IT team, strategy and functions. He brings in-depth technology experience from his former positions with industry leaders such as ABM Industries, Dell Technologies, World Fuel Services and Teva Pharmaceuticals. Danny has a prolific track record of spearheading innovation, technological transformations and business growth. With an extensive background in strategic leadership, he excels in identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities and integrating information technology with business objectives. Danny earned his bachelor’s and masters degrees in accounting from Florida International University.

As General Counsel at CoolSys, Bill will oversee legal matters and functions while supporting the company’s strategic objectives and continued growth through key acquisitions. With more than 25 years of experience as a legal and corporate development executive, he brings significant expertise in facilitating mergers and acquisitions as well as a range of other legal and financial transactions. Previously, he held senior in-house legal counsel positions at Buckeye Partners, a liquid petroleum product pipeline company, and from Enviva, the world’s largest producer of sustainable wood pellets, a renewable alternative to fossil fuels. He received his law degree at The George Washington University Law School and his bachelor’s degree at Drew University. He has also completed executive education programs at The Wharton School and Harvard Business School.
