The United States Investing Championship just announced its six month standings for 2024. There are four hundred thirty-seven competitors, each of whom selects a real money account to be tracked before the competition begins. Prior top performers include Paul Tudor Jones, Mark Minervini, David Ryan, Mark Strome, and Dr. Edward O. Thorp.

In the $1,000,000+ stock division, leading with a six-month gain of 67.4% is Deepak Uppal, from Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Uppal has an MBA from the University of Illinois. Second is Anthony Shi + 55.7%, from Hong Kong. Mr. Shi was born and raised in Australia. He is a co-founder of Altus Capital. Third is Aryan Khandelwal of TwoXCapital + 50.7%. Mr. Khandelwal is a Division 1 squash player at Dartmouth College. He co-manages TwoXCapital with his brother Tanmay, who won this division in 2023 with a gain of 129%. Other traders reporting significant profits are Vibha Jha + 40.7%, James R. Wombles, Jr. + 34.4%, Ravi Gullapalli (Fastra Investments LP) + 26.5%, and John Ward (Mystic Valley Investments) + 21.6%.

In the $1,000,000+ enhanced growth division, which allows the trading of futures and options, the leader after six months is Brandi Archer + 54.2%, a full-time trader from Chicago. Ms. Archer previously worked in real estate and has a law degree from Chicago-Kent. Second is Magnus Sigurdsson + 49.3%, from Great Neck, New York. Mr. Sigurdsson was born and raised in Iceland. He has a graduate degree from MIT and has worked for twelve years in fintech and asset management. Third is Matthew Pryzby + 40.7%, from Long Beach, California. Mr. Pryzby grew up in Long Island, New York. He runs Trading Experts, an educational service for traders. Other traders reporting significant profits are SK Chong of Kamet Capital + 14%.

Among participants trading less than $1,000,000 in stocks, the leader after six months is James Hatzigiannis + 584.9%, from Chicago. He has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri. Second is Adam Graham + 289.3%, from Charlotte, NC, a civil engineer who invested heavily in NVDA. Third is Christian Flanders + 267.1%, from Puerto Rico. Mr Flanders played poker professionally for ten years and is a fencing champion. Others achieving gains of more than 100% in six months are Leos Mikulka + 248.6%, Javi Medina + 230.6%, Menelaos Fthenakis + 157%, Pankaj Agarwal + 150.3%, Angel Pandev + 131.2%, and Shreyas Bharadwaj + 115.6%.

Among participants trading less than $1,000,000 in the enhanced growth division, the leader after six months is Holly Handy + 129.5%, from Advance, North Carolina. Holly is a stay-at-home mom with a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology. Second is Anindo Majumdar + 127.7%, from San Diego. Mr. Majumdar is originally from New Delhi, India. He immigrated to the United States in 1989. Third is Brandon Frenchak + 119.8%, from Montgomery, TX. He runs a data engineering consulting firm. Also achieving gains in excess of 100% are Stephen Dingler + 118.5% and Florian Philippi + 100.7%.
