Bocada Automates Key Data Protection Reporting and Compliance
Processes Company delivers version 2.5 of award-winning
BackupReport(R) software BELLEVUE, Wash., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ --
Bocada, Inc., the leading provider of scalable, enterprise data
protection reporting, compliance and charge-back solutions, today
announced the latest version of its award-winning BackupReport(R)
software application. BackupReport version 2.5 was developed in
direct response to the feedback of hundreds of professionals,
managers and end-users using BackupReport across to automatically
consolidate, organize and distribute information on more than
2,000,000 backup jobs per day from more than 400 locations
worldwide. In addition to an enhanced user experience and greater
control over fine reporting elements and information management,
BackupReport version 2.5 now collects and consolidates critical
data directly from leading tape library solutions. In a survey to
be released later today, Bocada sent questionnaires to qualified IT
professionals and learned that over 90% of them believe that
tracking and reporting on backup activity is an absolute
requirement. The survey also revealed that a majority of
respondents have resorted to time-consuming and tedious manual data
collection, scripts and spreadsheets as the only way to get the
system performance data they need to manage their operations.
Bocada's unique, agentless, multi-vendor approach enables customers
to replace these time-intensive and error-prone tasks with a
scalable, enterprise class application that typically pays for
itself in less than one year. "The mission of Bocada is to provide
customers with software that delivers concise, unbiased information
that enables the efficient use of data protection systems,
processes, and people," said Mark Silverman, CEO of Bocada. "We are
all about improving data security while driving down costs." "Every
enhancement in the latest version of our BackupReport solution is
based on specific feedback from dozens of the world's largest
telecom, finance, health care, consumer and technology companies,
as well as hundreds of leading data protection experts," said Liam
Scanlan, Bocada's Vice President of Product Development. "From our
next generation user experience to the collection of data directly
from large library environments, our end-users drive our
development priorities." Other key additions to BackupReport 2.5
include: -- Enhanced Utilization Reporting -- Customers can review
continuous loading by job group, drive and other categories to
accelerate identification and optimization of expensive,
underutilized assets saving both time and money. -- New Report
Groups -- Customers can group information by master server, media
server, zone, owner, job group and more to closely mirror existing
organizational structures and processes. The benefit is efficient,
automated distribution of the specific information to particular
groups or individuals when needed increasing employee efficiency
and ensuring focus on agreed upon priorities. -- Error Sensitivity
-- Customers can now assign sensitivities to particular error
categories as well as create and prioritize their own error
categories promoting more refined SLA compliance and charge-back,
as well as more efficient task prioritization. About Bocada Bocada,
