The 29th Annual Holiday Art Fair, November 1-2 in Farmington Hills
Saturday, November 1, 2003, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, November 2,
2003, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Oct. 28
/PRNewswire/ -- The 29th Annual Holiday Art Fair will be held on
November 1 and 2, 2003 on the Oakland Community College Orchard
Ridge Campus in Farmington Hills. A holiday shopping tradition, The
Holiday Art Fair presents the work of 130 juried artists. Fair
hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m.
to 5 p.m. Admission is $3. Children under 12 are admitted free, and
parking is free. The first 5,000 attendees will receive a free
magnetic photo frame, and the first 500 children will get a
character bookmark. Throughout the fair, prizes donated by the
artists will be awarded hourly to shoppers in attendance who
fill-out an entry blank upon arrival. One Grand Prize will be
awarded -- a $500 holiday decorating package designed for their
home from HomeNetwork and Bailey & Shamoun. Clay Artist Douglas
Spalding of Royal Oak will demonstrate how he creates tiles by
pounding clay into a handcrafted mold. Other artists at the fair
include kaleidoscope artist Jerry Farnsworth of Bloomington,
Indiana who has been featured on HGTV's Modern Masters, religious
icon artist Maria Ciucur of Alexandria, Virginia, and many of
Michigan's most gifted and popular artists. University of Michigan
and Michigan State fans can shop early Saturday and enjoy the art
of the game before the game. Ceramic artist Carole Berhorst's Maize
& Blue and Green & White chip bowls and photographer Jan
Kaulin's hand- colored photos of Sparty and The Big House are among
the alum-related artwork available at the fair. Whether patrons are
looking for business gifts, handcrafted toys, jewelry, hand-woven
clothing or home accessories, the fair offers a multitude of
original and unique gifts for Christmas, Hanukah, and Kwanzaa, plus
handcrafted ceramics and textiles for an artfully set Thanksgiving
table. The Holiday Art Fair is presented by The Michigan Guild of
Artists and Artisans, a non-profit organization, producer of the
award-winning Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair, and will be will be
located on the campus of OCC in Building H, Orchard Lake Road at
