IRVING, Texas, Aug. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- VALOR Communications Group, Inc. (NYSE:VCG), today announced that the company's Board of Directors has named Edward J. Heffernan chair of VALOR's Audit Committee effective September 1, 2005. Heffernan is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Alliance Data Systems Corporation in Dallas, Texas. "We are very pleased to have Ed expand his role on the Audit Committee and serve as its chair," said Jack Mueller, VALOR Communications Group president and chief executive officer. "The experience and knowledge that Ed brings will serve VALOR well as we navigate the changing telecommunications environment.
