Sybase, Inc. (NYSE:SY), an industry leader in delivering
enterprise and mobile software, today announced Sybase CEP, a
complex event processing (CEP) technology for performing analytics
on high speed streaming data. By integrating Sybase CEP with RAP
The Trading Edition, Sybase provides a complete platform for trade
lifecycle analytics and furthers its leadership in analytics.
Sybase CEP extends the Sybase RAP platforms capability to store
and analyze vast amounts of real-time and historical data, by
providing real-time intelligence on high speed streaming market and
trade data with minimum latency.
Sub-second and millisecond data is not only driving trading
decisions but increasingly driving a greater percentage of
industry-wide decisions, said Larry Tabb, CEO, TABB Group. As
more data becomes available for real-time decisions and
competition, financial, and regulatory pressures constrain the
financial organization businesses will need to integrate
institutional and real-time data to make more intelligent decisions
under tighter time pressures. CEP technologies will be at the core
of this movement.
Sybase CEP in conjunction with RAP The Trading Edition
provides integrated solutions for traders, risk managers and
quantitative analysts. Traders and risk managers need the ability
to do real-time analytics on high speed streaming trade and market
data, to capture risk and react to new opportunities with minimal
latency. Using Sybase CEP, traders can identify patterns on
streaming data and take immediate action while risk managers can
aggregate trade data across multiple systems and monitor trader
activity to calculate risk and P&L in real time. This
technology also allows quantitative analysts to back test their
algorithms using historical data stored in Sybase RAP.
The ability to react in real time to changing market conditions
has become mission-critical, said Dr. Raj Nathan, Chief Marketing
Officer at Sybase. Sybase is broadening its leadership in
analytics as the only vendor to offer a fully integrated enterprise
class capital markets platform Sybase CEP provides our capital
markets customers the ability to do analytics on streaming data,
complementing RAP The Trading Edition which stores and analyzes
massive amounts of real-time and historical data.
Sybase CEP provides a rich development and deployment
environment for building event-based applications. By providing an
intuitive, SQL-like event processing language, integrated graphical
development environment, rich built-in functions, and broad adapter
support, Sybase CEP makes application development efficient. Key
features include:
- SQL-like CCL language for
application development
- Adapters, SDKs and UDFs for
building custom adapters and applications
- Studio for ease of use in
development and deployment
- Performance and scalability
In addition to capital markets, Sybase plans to leverage Sybase
CEP in other key verticals that have a need for high speed
streaming analytics, including telecommunications, healthcare and
government agencies.
Sybase will be hosting the Sybase CEP launch event in Sybase's
New York office on Wednesday, March 25. Please click here to
