Glowpoint, Inc., (NASDAQ: GLOW) the world's leading broadcast-quality IP-based video communications service provider, today announced that Chief Technology Officer Michael Brandofino has been recognized by the New Jersey Technology Council for his leadership and innovation as a finalist for the CIO of the Year Award. The official presentation took place on Friday, May 6, during the New Jersey CIO Conference 2005 in Plainsboro, New Jersey. The award, sponsored by Intel, is designed to recognize New Jersey-based technology executives whose innovation, creativity and business management philosophies consistently demonstrate the effective use of technology in support of company-wide strategic initiatives. Brandofino, who was chosen from over 60 other nominees, was one of three finalists and recognized alongside Edward Chapel, CIO, Montclair State University and Garry Johnson, Sr. VP and CTO, Dendrite International. In developing the world's first and leading IP-based video communication service, Brandofino has provided the vision and technology leadership that has propelled GlowPoint to conceptualize, build and implement advanced technologies never before available in the video communication industry. Since Brandofino joined the company in 2000, GlowPoint has introduced IP-based services and applications that advance its mission to make video communications as easy and spontaneous as placing a standard telephone call. These advancements include: -- The GlowPoint '000' Live Video Operator, the largest instant-access live video operator service available in the United States. -- The GlowPoint Video Call Assistant, a groundbreaking service developed to replace confusing technology-based messages with 'Lisa', a virtual Video Call Assistant who intercepts video calls that do not complete and provides instant video help information. -- The GlowPoint Video Call Mailbox, a first-of-its-kind video call answering machine that allows in-bound video callers to leave broadcast quality full motion video messages that are instantly forwarded via e-mail to their intended recipient. -- Real 10-Digit Standard Phone Numbers, an industry break-through that replaced legacy IP-based access codes, making dialing a video number as easy as picking up the telephone. Prior to joining GlowPoint, Brandofino served as President of Johns Brook Company, where he refocused the company from a network consulting business to a video-centric technology organization providing video-over-IP solutions. Brandofino has a BBA of MIS from Pace University. About GlowPoint Glowpoint, Inc. (NASDAQ: GLOW) is the world's leading broadcast quality, IP-based video communications service provider.
