Acquisition of Lex Service PLC shares by Mourant & Co Trustees Limited as
Trustees for the Lex Service Employee's Share Ownership Plan Trust ("the
Trust").

On 3 December 2001 Mourant & Co Trustees Limited, the Trustees of Lex Service
Employee's Share Ownership Plan Trust, purchased a total of 182,500 shares at
507p per share. The Company received notification of this purchase today.

These shares are to be held within the Trust for the benefit of the Trust's
future participants. The executive directors of Lex Service PLC, being amongst
the potential beneficiaries of the Trust, are deemed to have an interest in
the 182,500 shares and will cease to have an interest in these shares when
they are transferred to participants.
