Appointment of a director

The board of Inveresk Plc is pleased to announce the appointment of David Nigel
Doorbar as an Executive Director with effect from 15th June 2005.

David has a wide experience of working within the paper industry and his wealth
of knowledge will be a great benefit to the company in his role as General
Manager with specific emphasis in the area of sales and marketing.

The directorships held by David Nigel Doorbar (aged 51) now and over the five
years preceding the date of appointment are as follows:

Current: Lancaster Paper Agency (dormant)

As at the date of this announcement, David Nigel Doorbar has no interest in the
ordinary shares of the Company.

There are no other matters which are required to be announced as required under
paragraph (f) of Schedule 2 of the AIM Rules.
